Clinical Supervision

Supervision is fundamental to professional practice for Counsellors, Psychotherapists and individuals working within the helping profession.

Incorporation of regular supervision into practice is regarded as ethically imperative and is a requirement of most professional bodies including the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The collaborative working alliance between Supervisor and Practitioner provides a framework to facilitate in-depth reflection on the therapeutic process, self-awareness, ethical principles and concerns, personal and professional development, and working context, with a professional who is not in a line management role.

Review and exploration of work within supervision, maximizes the Practitioner’s effectiveness and enhances the safety and quality of service provided to clients.
